Synopsis:

Times change. Once upon a time, it was, "Throw out that akikan (empty can in Japanese)!" Then it was, "Recycle that akikan!" But now… Akikan’s a lovely girl!

It seems times have gone from throwing things away to recycling them to treasuring and even falling in love with them. That was why, until now, Akikan always felt so sad. When people drank up all the juice inside her, she felt unimportant and hated that feeling. She wanted to be treasured forever, so she decided to change her image and make herself more girlish.

One day, Daichi Kakeru, a slightly weird guy with a passion for collecting juice cans, had a fateful encounter with a melon soda. He pulled the tab from the can and put it to his lips. The taste of that soda must have been like a kiss, because, lo and behold, that can turned into a beautiful girl, Akikan!

And it was through this girlish ceremony that Kakeru became the owner of an Akikan. And since this can was full of melon soda, his Akikan’s name became "Melon."

And so Kakeru and Melon began their (forbidden?) life together...
