The ACE in the hole!

anibee recently made a trip to Tokyo for one purpose - to pay a visit to ACE!

"What's ACE?" you ask? It's the Anime Contents Expo (ACE) of course!

Held at Makuhari Messe; one of the biggest convention centers in the East of Tokyo, ACE is the newest big-scale event to be held in Japan. ACE is the ultimate convention for just about anything under the sun for Anime fans, featuring everything from toys to merchandise to cosplay and of course - a preview of new and upcoming Anime!

Speaking of new Anime, here are a few titles that caught our eye:

Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka? Of The Dead

The second season to this extremely quirky 'harem-anime' with a twist! Accidental zombie-turned-magical-girl (wrap your head around THAT!) and his 'sidekick', Haruna, are back for more crazy antics! Currently airing in Japan, this is guaranteed to be a unique experience of a show!

Persona 4: The Animation

Based on the hit RPG by Atlus and part of the long running Shin Megami Tensei series, Persona 4: The Animation stands out as one of the uncommonly good video-game-to-anime shows - and the crowd knows it! A massive success, the series has recently had its newest Blu-Ray and DVD instalment released!

Release: Now showing in Japan!

Zombie-fans are bound to be pleased, as we get another title that dabbles in themes related to our undead friends! Based on a romantic comedy manga by Mitsuru Hattori, it follows the story of Chihiro, a zombie-obsessed individual, and Rea, a girl who unwittingly becomes a zombie after a suicide attempt. Weird, goofy, and even a little dark - sounds like a fun time!

From The New World

Release: 4th Quarter 2012

Based on the hit novel by Kishi Yusuke, From The New World tells the tale of 5 children who live in a dark, alternate future ruled by people with strange telekinesis powers. The story follows these children as they discover an old archive robot that begins to reveal to them the bloody history behind the world they live in. The novel won the Japan Sci-fi Award in 2008, and looks set to be a huge hit for this year!

These are just but a handful of new title we can look forward to this year! What new title are you looking forward to that you'd like anibee to talk about? Let us know!
