Natsume Yujin-Cho - Season 4

Ever since he was a child, Natsume Takashi has had the strange ability to see spirits. He faces difficulties keeping this secret from others around him, but his life changes when he inherits his late grandmother's "Book of Friends". He discovers that within the book lies binding contracts between the spirits and the book's owner. Together with a spirit cat, Natsume begins a journey to release and help these spirits.

In the series' fourth season, will more be revealed about his grandmother, Reiko's past? What adventures await Natsume and his feline companion, Nyanko-sensei? Find out in January 2012 when Natsume Yujin-Cho returns!

In the past, Teikou Middle School boasted the top basketball team that demolished all competition, a group of players known as the "Generation of Miracles". After the team graduated, Teikou's five main players went their separate ways. Now, a sixth phantom member of Teikou's team surfaces: Tetsuya Kuroko from Seirin High! One by one, he takes on his former teammates to bring Seirin to the top of Japan.

Adapted from a Shonen Jump manga, this sports series promises nail-biting action and a good dose of humour, and is an ideal introduction to the sports genre for the generation that missed Slam Dunk. Come April 2012, be sure to catch Kuroko no Basuke!

Rinne no Lagrange

Kyono Madoka, a 17-year-old girl, is approached by Lan, a girl who recruits her to pilot a robot called "Vox". Together with a third girl Muginami, they work to help citizens and protect the city from invading aliens, and have to find out their enemies' true goal.

Tech geeks will surely be mesmerised by the intricate robot designs featured in this anime. For the rest of us, there's much to look forward to in the colourful fighting scenes and the many mysteries behind Rinne no Lagrange.

Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki

Based on a four-panel manga of the same name, this slice-of-life story revolves around an oddly spherical cat named Poyo, and follows its daily life with its family and friends in a series of six-minute episodes.

With the acclaimed director of Fruits Basket, Akitaro Daichi helming the project, this will be one of the more unique animes to watch out for in January. Be sure to check out Poyo's adventures in 2012!
