Ani-Music: Eir Aoi
Good day fellow anibee readers~!
Today I'll introduce one of the anisong singers who graced AFA Indonesia 2013 just this month!
Eir Aoi (藍井エイル) is a Japanese singer from Sapporo, Hokkaido and is signed to SME Records. She was discovered through the Nico Nico Douga video sharing website.
Though Aoi had been singing since high school, her official debut only came in 2011, when she released "Memoria", the first ED song to the 2011 anime series Fate/Zero. BARKS once gave the comment on their surprise on her ability to sing ^^
Her second single "Aurora" was released on September 5, 2012, which is used as the fourth opening theme song to the anime Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. Her third single "Innocence" was released on November 21, 2012, which is used as the second opening theme song to the anime Sword Art Online.
Her fifth single "Sirius" will be released on November 13 this year, to be used as the OP song of anime Kill la Kill.
So far, only one of her singles has not been selected as an anisong. In addition to her singles, she has released a full-length album of 14 songs, BLAU. If I had to really nitpick, I would say that her songs so far are mostly full of strong and fast rhythms. I would like to hear a slow ballad from her one day~ ^^
I had the greatest opportunity to catch her live at AFA Indonesia and boy, was she amazing! A jam-packed performance with 8 powerful songs, she delivered all of them without a hitch! Good news for all those who have yet to hear her live: She will be singing for AFA SG Day 2, alongside LiSA and May'n! Tickets are already available, so get them while you can!
