SOD Cafe Bubble Tea Review - FIRST Caffeine-free Bubble Tea in Singapore
We are wrapped in a sweltering heat this season and our office was rudely intruded upon by an unwelcomed guest - an enormous fly which had nestled itself quite comfortably within the compounds of our office. Despite having to deal with the constant buzzing and occasion swipe at our local fly, our colleagues received a very pleasant surprise when we brought back a variety of bubble teas from SOD Cafe at Yew Tee Point Singapore.
The trip to Yew Tee Point is long from our office but the bubble teas are definitely worth the effort. Not to be confused with the other heartland malls around the area, Yew Tee Point is just right behind Yew Tee MRT Station. SOD cafe is situated around the centre of the Basement and looks welcoming with a huge signage and wooden furnishings.
The 2 young staff working behind the bubble tea counter are cheerful and very helpful. They are busying with mixing bubble tea for the on-and-off stream of customers as it was still pretty early for the peak period when we reached. Most were students from the neighbouring schools and some working adults.
I think most of us have the mindset that anything healthy means bland or not as flavourful as the usual, more "sinful" ingredients. But SOD Cafe's bubble tea proved us wrong. They have a series of caffeine-free bubble tea made from premium tea leaves at the choice of your own sugar level. We were spoilt for choice! We were delighted to find that they taste every drop as satisfying as a cup of sinful beverage and even more so because we couldn't stop guzzling on it.
Premium Tea Leaves + Caffeine-free + Low Sugar Level + Anti-oxidant = SOD Cafe Bubble tea
SOD Cafe positioned itself uniquely as providing specialised premium and healthy bubble tea series with excellent services. They are absolutely right on that! We were able to down a full cup without having a ton of guilt weighing down on our health conscious minds.
Even the pricing is affordable for students too. Starting from only 2 dollars onwards for the classic tea range, the Taro Milk Tea and Hazelnut Milk Tea are a must-try for starters! Also, if you prefer something a little lighter, the Grass Jelly Milk Tea is great for a refreshing twist! We all agreed that the Grass Jelly is one of the silkiest that we've ever tasted!
Even if you prefer a hot drink to chase your blues away on a cold rainy day, SOD Cafe has a huge range for a bubble tea cafe! Miss Geek had the SOD Double Froth Coco and couldn't stop raving about it! The thick smooth Coco with double dash of creamy froth must have won her over whole-heartedly. Something magical about the thick healthy froth that sits so perfectly on top of a hot Coco is indeed mesmerising.
Some out-of-the-world flavours for the daring souls include SOD Tongkat Ali Tea and SOD Ginseng Tea. Not for the faint-hearted we reckon!
SOD Cafe's bubble teas are made from premium tea leafs that originated from South Africa. Having a keen sense of curiosity for our taste buds, we are very open to trying the latest or quirkiest gourmet or beverage we have on our lovable island. Our discovery on SOD Cafe's bubble tea is a healthy addiction we don't want to kick!
I've since converted to a SOD Cafe's bubble tea drinker from this instant onwards.
