The Town of Anime - Akihabara Street Fashion

Akihabara is often known as the 'Town of Anime'. Stepping into Akihabara is like stepping into another world as the district is filled with cosplay cafes, electrical appliances and video games stores. It's a dream come true for fans of anime, cosplay cafes and fashion. It's a common sight to see waitresses dressed up as game or anime characters, with maid costumes being the most popular. Otakus can't resist the allure of girls in uniform so it's a common form of advertising.

There is even a Dansou cafe where the female staff are all dressed up as butlers!

On the streets, individuals with their own unique style are spotted everywhere. While streets filled with cosplayers to Lolitas would cause others to do a double take, the people over here have found a way to incorporate these looks into their everyday life.

The tickets are so sought after that the only way to get the tickets now is through lottery. It's the best proof that the growing influence of Akihabara's otaku cannot be denied.
