World-Vibe: Mizushima Hiro returns to act in live-action Kuroshitsuji!
Sometimes, persistence does pay off!
After almost 1½ years of persuading, retired actor Mizushima Hiro had recently agreed to take up the role of Sebastian Michaelis in a live-action adaptation of Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler).
Mizushima, who had retired 3 years ago to pursue a writing career, was reported to have been "consistently turning down" the offer for the role from Producer Matsuhashi Masami. However, it was due to Matsuhashi's "passionate dedication" to the project, that the former-Kamen Rider actor finally decided to accept the part.
Mizushima's popularity was initially made known by his earlier roles of Tendou Souji/Kamen Rider Kabuto, where his cool demeanor and bilingual skills quickly made him stand out.
Mizushima subsequently solidified his status as an actor with roles in movies such as Beck, and notably TV series, Mei-chan no Shitsuji - which had him play the role of a devoted butler.
"There is no one else BUT Mizushima-san, who could possibly do the part of Sebastian, justice!" the Director commented.
We would like to agree!
