A hard-rocking, edgy voice coupled with a style that oozes confidence, she recently performed at the Anime Festival Asia Malaysia, her first gig in Southeast Asia - it's KOTOKO!
Born in Sapporo, Japan, KOTOKO knew she wanted to pursue a career with her voice from as early as elementary school. From there on, it was pure hard work; going for an endless stream of auditions all while polishing her musical talents at Haura Music School in addition to her regular school classes.
Becoming a professional singer in 1999, KOTOKO's initial works were with producing team, I've Sound. Since then, KOTOKO's had an impressive body of works, doing various opening and closing songs for anime such as Shakugan no Shana and Accel World, and even video games like Blazblue: Calamity Trigger.
KOTOKO has even made waves overseas, with her first successful American concert debut at Anime Expo 2005, which soon followed with the Kotoko Lax Tour.
KOTOKO's since gained a huge following, with her fans hailing from countries far beyond her hometown of Sapporo. Sometimes, sheer hard work truly does pay off!
