World-Vibe: Dragon Quest Monsters sells over 500k copies in a week!


The Square Enix-produced 'RPG Dragon Quest Monsters - Terry's Wonderland 3D' for the Nintendo 3DS, sold over 500,000 copies in Japan and topped the charts from the week of the 28th of May till 3rd of June.

The latest installment in the long-running RPG franchise, the game's total sales of 513,000 copies beat other major titles recently released for the top position, such as Capcom's 'Dragon Dogma' for the Playstation 3 (total sales, 385,000) and Nintendo's 'Mario Tennis Open' for the 3DS (total sales, 143,000).

The game's sales performance breaks the previous sales record from a 3DS title, made previously by Capcom's 'Monster Hunter 3G', which sold 520,200 copies.

A remake of the original 1998 Gameboy Color game, 'Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland', the game features completely remade graphics and randomly generated dungeons. It also offers a variety of online features, such as a WiFi Ranking Battle system.
